The Empanadas

Mitä tapahtui viikonloppuna? Lauantaina lauantaiaamukaava toistui: herätys, lenkille, markkinoille ja sit host siskolle aamupalalle. Tällä kertaa oli tosin toisen hostsiskon kokkaus vuoro. Aamupalaksi meillä oli tällä kertaa appelsiini pannukakut, banaanismoothieta ja uunigreippiä. Emma ♥ Aamupala. Iltapäivällä loikoilin auringossa, joka on jaksanut paistaa nyt jokapäivä. Illalla menin uudestaan hostsiskolle kylään kun hänellä ja hänen poikaystävällä oli tuparit. Vein uuteen taloon kaktuksen. Teemana oli Chile, koska host siskon poikaystävä on siis sieltä kotoisin ja tarjolla oli empanadakseja (taivutus?) ja koristeet oli Chilen lippujen väreissä. Istuttiin iltaa ja oli kivaa :)!

Sunnuntaina sitten vuorostaan toistin mun sunnuntaiaamukaavan ja hain aamupalaksi tuoreen sämpylän. Sitten päätin että toteutan kohdan mun 'before I go home'-listalta ja lähdin kävelemään yhdelle kirpputorille missä mun on pitänyt käydä. Koska meidän talo on niin viileä mun asuvalinta ei ollut paras mahdollinen. Kävely porottavassa auringossa mustissa farkuissa, pitkähihaisessa ja takissa.... huh tulee kuuma kun vaan ajattelen sitä. Vesipullokin jäi kotiin, joten olin pikkasen kuollut kun sitten parin tunnin jälkeen palasin mun seikkailulta. Kirppari oli kiva vaikken löytänytkään sieltä mitään, mutta saanpahan taas ruksata yhden kohdan listalta. Iltapäivä meni kävelystä toipuen ja innostuin tekemään kollaaseja pitkästä aikaa. Suomessa mut voi hyvin usein löytää illalla mun huoneesta lehtisilppukasan keskeltä leikkaamassa ja liimaamassa kuvia. Mikään aikakausilehti ei ole turvassa jos mä saan sakset käteeni...

So what happened on the weekend? On Saturday I followed my routine: Wake up, jog, markets and then breakfast at my host sister. This time it was my other host sister that had us over for brekkie. She had cooked us delicious orange pancakes, baked grapefruit and banana smoothie.... Emma♥Breakfast. The afternoon I just spend chilling in our front yard enjoying the sun. It has been such a nice weather her now! Real summer weather and it keeps getting better and better. In the evening I went back to my host sister because she and her boyfriend had organized a little housewarming party. The theme was Chile as the boyfriend is from Chile and it recently was the national day. We ate empanadas, listened to music in Spanish and some guests even brought some decorations in the colors of the Chilean flag. I brought a cactus, it's kinda in the theme right ;). (ok lets not get Mexico mixed into this). It was a really nice evening! :)

Yesterday I followed my Sunday routine by walking to the bakery to get a fresh bread roll for breakfast. Then I got this idea to do something from my 'before I go home' -list and ended up to walk to a market I've wanted to visit but never had time for. The walk would have been really nice, but as my outfit choice went really wrong I couldn't enjoy the perfect weather. Black jeans, a long sleeved top and a jacket are not the best combination with the sun and quite some degrees. I also forgot my water bottle home, which made it even worse... oh well. The market was nice, although I didn't buy anything. The rest of the day I spent recovering from the hot walk, and ended up making collages which I hadn't been doing since I came here. In Finland I make them all the time.. That's what my weekend looked like, hope yours was nice too ;)!
